IPM

L&T Institute of Project Management (L&T IPM), a one of a kind institute, was established in 2008 by L&T at Vadodara in the heart of L&T's 115-acre campus - L&T Knowledge City. The Institute soon established itself as a centre of excellence in Project Management. To cater to the increasing demand, a second campus of L&T IPM was established in 2011 at L&T's Chennai Campus.

Since its inception, L&T IPM has been at the forefront of creating and delivering structured Project Management programs to create global professionals. Developed as an exclusive entity for educational initiatives in the areas of Project Management, IPM has, over a period of time developed and delivered various courses pertinent to the Project Management practice.

The faculty comprises of eminent professionals with extensive experience in project management.

The mandate of the institute is to:

  • Provide a high quality and relevant education in project management for all L&T Group employees and prepare them to be proficient as contributing members of project teams and also as excellent project managers collate and disseminate project management knowledge as practiced in L&T Group through structured courses in project management.
  • Develop and deliver project management cases from projects undertaken by L&T Group.
  • Benchmark global project management practices and incorporate these practices in the curriculum to create centre of excellence in Project Management.
  • Collaborate with leading intuitions of repute across the globe for research in project management.
  • Create a unique body of knowledge in project management capturing vast experience of L&T in executing domestic and international projects and document it in archival publications.
  • Develop and nurture a talent pool of project management trainers from the practicing managers as a resource for the organization.

With a basket of courses, accreditations and certifications, L&T IPM’s educational programs are emerging as benchmark standards in project management education to address the competencies development needs at various levels of the organisation.

In June 2020, Mr. S.N. Subrahmanyan, CEO & MD of Larsen & Toubro Limited, constituted the Project Management Council consisting of Mr. Subramanian Sarma, Mr. T Madhav Das, Mr. A.L. Sekar, Dr. C. Jayakumar and the Dean of L&T IPM.  This council provides strategic direction, guidance and governance to L&T IPM in creating world class project management talent.
